SPENCER'S STORY

Spencer Soicher joined the 9NEWS team in December 2024 as a reporter. Spencer is a Denver native, who grew up dreaming of wearing the 9 pin on his lapel. His dad, Marc, and uncle, Drew, both worked in Denver news.

Before coming home, Spencer worked at ABC10 News in San Diego, California, writing and shooting general assignment and political stories.

Prior to his time in San Diego, Spencer worked as a weekend anchor and reporter down south in Colorado Springs. There, he earned a reputation for asking public officials the awkward question they want to avoid and exposing the truth in his political reporting.

Spencer has reported on several presidential visits, and political campaign cycles, making a mark by fact-checking and conducting strong interviews.

Spencer has a uniquely conversational storytelling style and prides himself on telling stories that make people think and learn. He loves a weird story too!

His reporting from the frontlines of the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history, the Marshall Fire, as well as from the deadly mass shooting at Club Q in 2022 have been honored with multiple Edward R. Murrow awards and an Emmy nomination.

He is a graduate of the best school in the world, The University of Texas at Austin, and is most likely to be found parked on his couch over-hyping the football team each Saturday in the fall.

Spencer is also a proud Denver East High School alum. At East, he started the school's broadcast program and frequently called Angel basketball games with his classmates.

He's thrilled to be back in Denver, where he can see his family and friends every day, and where he can watch the Broncos every week.
